Montepulciano Vino Nobile is produced near the town Montepulciano, in the province of Siena. This Tuscany wine is characterized by the long vesting period (it has to mature for 2-3 years in wooden barrels) and a limited area of production.
Best Montepulciano grape is grown on south-east hills, at height about 300 meters above sea level. The grapes used for production of Vino Nobile are mainly Sangiovese and eventually some Canaiolo.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano has a deep ruby red color which becomes with the years garnet with orange outflow, and a strong character.
The taste and bouquet of Vino Nobile is similar to Chianti Classico. Its bouquet has delicate perfumes of violets, and the taste is surprisingly dry and equate.
Basically, Montepulciano Vino Nobile combines the richness of Brunello di Montalcino with aromas of Chianti Classico.
It has been appreciated for centuries for its unique taste and it is, indeed, elite product. The label “Riserva” represents the top quality.
Vino Nobile needs to mature for 26 months in wood barrels, 36 months for the wines having Riserva label.

Further follow Tenuta Valdipiatta, Fattoria Del Cerro
