Airports in Tuscany

Airports in Tuscany offer a wide choice of car rentals, as well as they are conveniently connected with the city by local bus or by train.

If you are looking for low-cost or private jet flights, either way here you will find my best suggestion and advice on choosing airport in Tuscany which is right for you.

However, before you fly remember to take care of your safety during travel. Read more about medical evacuation and repatriation and have a great holiday in Tuscany!

Here is a list of Airports in Tuscany:

  • FIRENZE (Italian for Florence) - Amerigo Vespucci, Peretola

Florence airportFlorence airport Peretola has the most central location of all the airports in Tuscany and operates internationally. It is also perfectly connected with other Tuscan provinces by train; and it has a wide choice of car rentals.

So if your best airfare is falling to Florence Italy airport don't worry: that's a perfect location to start your travel to Tuscany.

You may choose to check out the Florence Italy airport home page, or go directly to the airlines and see what flights are available from your country to Firenze.

  • LUCCA - Tassignano

Small airport of Tassignano (Lucca) is located in the area called Capannori. Years ago it was transformed from the military airport to the one of the civil use. This airport is only available for national Italian flights or private jet flights.

Flying to Lucca airport is perfect for the private jets owners to visit Versilia, Viareggio o Forte dei Marmi - the important tourist locations on the Tuscan coast.

As you see, Lucca airport has much less flying options but it can have a great value if you prefer traveling with your own jet.

Visit the Lucca airport home page for more information.

Pisa airport Pisa airport Galileo Galilei is the most important airport in Tuscany. It operates with a wide range of airlines including low-cost ones like Ryanair.

There are many direct flights from many cities of Europe and from New York, USA.

Pisa airport is connected to Pisa city by the local bus (you can save money on taking taxi if you are staying in Pisa), and once in Pisa you can take a train to Livorno, Florence, Viareggio or anywhere you like.

Getting to Tuscany by flying to Pisa airport is, perhaps, the most convenient option.

If you check out the flight destinations of Galileo Galilei you will almost surely find something interesting for yourself considering the country where you live and the price you want to pay for the air ticket.

Unfortunately, Siena airport doesn't offer much value to a tourist. It is another airport after Lucca which has been transformed from the old military airport.

Siena airport is very small and it's the only one of all the airports in Tuscany that carries mostly the flights dedicated to human organs transportation and other ambulance services.

Just in case this is exactly what you were looking for you can check out the Siena airport home page and learn more.

Another ex-military airport in Grosseto. There is no stable time table of the flights but occasionally, especially in high season, Grosseto airport is used for pre-arranged charters and landing private jet flights. Over the last few years there were varios charters from Russia going directly to Grosseto airport.

Check out your trusted travel agent and see if there are charters available from your country to Grosseto.

Or visit Grosseto airport home page to learn more.

This Tuscany airport is situated on Elba, one of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.  If Elba is where you'd like to be for your Tuscan holidays then choose for this option.

The only airline having regular flights to Marina di Campo is InterSky; and it connects Elba with Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Elba airport also welcomes V.I.P. tourists offering private jet flights and services.

Elba airport is very touristic; has a wide variety of car rentals and is conveniently connected with all the provinces of Elba with bus routes.

Here you can check out the flight destinations of Elba airport.
